You are an auditory learner, so you learn by hearing and listening.  You understand and learn things you have heard.  You store information by the way it sounds, and you prefer listening or reading or writing.  You often learn by reading out loud because you have to hear it or speak it in order to know it.

As an auditory learner you probably hum or talk to yourself or others if you become bored.  Sometimes people think you not paying attention, although you may have heard and understand everything that has been said.  You have an easier time understanding spoken directions or instruction than those written down.

The following are things auditory learners can do to learn better.
  • Be sure to sit where you can hear
  • Have you hearing check on a regular basis
  • Use flashcards but read them out loud
  • Read stories, directions and assignments out loud
  • Have test questions read out loud
  • study new material by reading out loud
  • Remember you need to hear thinds, not just see things, in order to learn well
